Years on UCA Staff: Four

Favorite place you've visited as a UCA Instructor:
California -- I was able to go to the mountains and see an amazing view, visit the beach, and L.A. all in the same trip!

What do you love about being a part of UCA Staff?
My friends -- I've met so many amazing people from so many different places and created bonds I know I'll have for the rest of my life.

Who encouraged you to tryout for UCA Staff:
My mom was a staff member for four years, and ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to be just like her! My all star coach in high school, Hank Light, is the Kentucky state director and encouraged me through the whole thing!

Who is the most influential person in your life?

The most influential people in my life are my younger sisters and brother. They inspire me to be a better person every day, and have such a love for life and everything they do. Although they're younger and they say they look up to me, I actually look up to them. I try to strive to be great for them.

Which coaches built you to be the athlete you are today?
All of my all star coaches were really amazing people. When I cheered at River Cities All Stars where I was taught not only how to be a better athlete, but also how to be a better person. I was really lucky to have coaches that cared about not only my physical well-being, but my mental and emotional well-being; like Beth Farley, who still to this day is in my phone as "Momma Beth."

I've had coaches that believed in me even when I had no faith in myself and encouraged me to keep working, like Aaron Billups. I've had some great coaches in my career, but one of them that really stands out is Hank Light. I can remember spotting him in the crowd before I performed so I could watch his reactions, and make eye contact with him before he put his head down while we did our elite stunts. I cannot put into words how much these small moments have affected my life and the path I have chosen to take. I'm blessed to have so many people to thank for helping get me here!

Most memorable moment cheering for Kentucky?
The most memorable moment I've had while cheering at Kentucky is winning my first national championship my freshman year. That moment, it really hit me that I was living my dream! The best part is that while I was competing, all of my all star friends had a competition that weekend and had watched me compete on the live stream! There's no greater feeling than knowing that I had not only reached a life goal of my own, but that I had so much love and support backing me the whole way!

What do you want to do after college?
My goal is to work for Varsity in the marketing department! If things go as planned I would love to be able to work for the company and coach somewhere.

What advice would you give an incoming freshman trying out for college cheerleader?
Be confident and believe in yourself! There is nothing you can't do if you want it bad enough.
