If you're heading to the America's Best National Championship in Kansas City on December 2-3, we've got the inside scoop on the event venue and things to do while you're taking a break. Located right in the heart of downtown, the Kansas City Convention Center is close (within walking distance) to many different restaurants and shops.

Inside the venue, this event will be hosted in the Municipal Arena, which seats over 7,000 fans. You'll likely find a great spot to watch your athletes perform. We suggest arriving early to find parking, and having a little extra cash on hand for concessions.

Parking Tips

ARRIVE EARLY! Parking downtown can take time, and the Kansas City Convention Center does not have designated parking at the facility. However, with plenty of parking in the area, the primary parking garage is the Auditorium Plaza Parking Garage, also known as the Barney Allis Plaza Parking Garage. The parking garage is located between 12th and 13th Streets, and between Central and Wyandotte Streets. It is south of the Marriott Hotel and north of the historic Municipal Auditorium.

The garage generally services all of the Convention Center facilities including the Municipal Arena, Music Hall, Grand Ballroom, Little Theatre, Conference Center, and Bartle Hall. A convenient underground tunnel exists into the Convention Center from inside the Auditorium Plaza Garage. Look for and follow signage.
