Everything You Need To Know To Watch NCA & NDA College Game Day
Get to know the Game Day division and relive the magic from last year as we prepare for the 2023 NCA & NDA National College Championship on April 6-8th!
The nation's top collegiate spirit squads are set to return to Daytona Beach, Florida this April 6-8th to showcase their school's spirited traditions on stage at the 2023 NCA & NDA College National Championship.
The first-ever Game Day divisions were introduced to NCA & NDA College Nationals back in 2018 as a way to provide a unique and exciting opportunity for school Spirit Programs to work together to showcase their ability to promote school spirit and excitement in support of their school and its athletic teams. The divisions not only allow the use of traditional sideline cheer and dance teams but also the incorporation of members of the school's Marching Band, Pep Band, Drum Line, Mascot(s), Spirit Group/Club, etc.
Fun Fact: NC State University and Tarleton State University became the first-ever NCA & NDA College Game Day champions!
In this division, teams are limited to three minutes on the mat. Each team is asked to perform their school’s traditional fight song, a crowd-leading section, and a band chant section. Teams will be judged on their ability to lead the crowd in an effective way, motion techniques, precision of skills, and overall routine impression. Participants are allowed to use anything from signs, megaphones, flags, and poms to help encourage crowd engagement.
