The time has come for teams to showcase all of their hard work at the 2024 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida! Colleges across the country all come together to show off the action-packed routines they've been working on all season with difficult pyramids, stunts, and tumbling! One division to keep a close eye on is all the competition set to take place in Division 1!
Morehead State University made quite the statement in 2023 sweeping every single Division 1 category to be named National Champions including All Girl Division 1, Cheer Division 1, and Small Coed Division 1. We know the Eagles will be back with more creative routines as they aim to defend their National Titles, but what other teams are going to throw their name into the mix to aim for the crown? Here's some things to keep an eye on as the 2024 UCA College Nationals rolls around:
All Girl Division 1
The University of West Georgia had been back-to-back champions in this division, but in 2023 Morehead State University finished on top as National Champions with a final score of 95.1. This was Morehead State University All Girl's 13th championship, and first win since 2018. University of West Georgia came in second place with a 92.6 finals score, and Sacred Heart University finished in third place with an 89.3. Year after year, this division continues to get more intense as teams continue to raise the bar with difficult pyramids, stunts, and clean tumbling.
Cheer Division 1
For those who want to see some jaw-dropping College Cheerleading, this is the division to keep your eye on! This division features high-flying stunts, innovative pyramids, and cheers that always get the crowd pumped up. Morehead State University continues to raise the bar each season with 29 all-time National Championships. The Eagles took the crown in 2023 hitting a zero deduction routine in finals with a finals core of 95.4 University of West Georgia always puts on a show as well finishing in second place with a 93 overall score. Pittsburg State University came in third place with a 79.2 final score. Can Morehead State University come back to win title number 30?!
Small Coed Division 1
Morehead State University made history in 2023 competing in this division for the first time ever and left the crowd in awe with their performance. The Eagles hit a zero deduction routine in finals to take the win as National Champions with a final score of 95.2. Eastern Kentucky University, another National Champion contender after taking the crown in 2022, finished in second place with a zero deduction routine scoring a 90.4, and Southeastern Louisiana University came in third place with a 88.3.
