The University of Minnesota Dance team put on a show in Division IA Jazz Prelims on Day 1 of the 2024 UDA College National Championship.

The Golden Gophers' routine was a nod to their legendary history at the championship where they performed to the same song, Dream On by Aerosmith, twenty years ago. Minnesota earned a score of 96.0952 in Prelims and is currently leading their group in first place as they head to the next round of the competition on Saturday.

Minnesota has won 21 national championships in the Jazz and Pom divisions since 2003, making them the winningest dance team in the country. The Gophers most recently double-titled in 2023 claiming Division IA Pom and Jazz UDA National Championship titles.

When Does The University Of Minnesota Dance Team Compete On Day 2 Of UDA Nationals?

The Minnesota Pom team will compete at 9:57 a.m. at the State Farm Field House on Jan. 13. 

Meanwhile, Division IA Jazz semifinals begin at 7:15 p.m. at the State Farm Field House on Jan. 13.
