The 2024 All Star Challenge King of the Jungle Tacoma Showdown will take place at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center in Tacoma, Washington, and Varsity TV will be there to provide live coverage of the event.

All Star Cheerleading and Dance continues to be a full theatric experience, putting a unique spin on every competition. Judges look at the technical aspects of the routines, as well as the creativity and overall entertainment.

What To Know About The Tacoma Convention Center

In 2024, the All Star Challenge King of the Jungle Tacoma Showdown heads to the Greater Tacoma Convention Center in Tacoma, Washington. 

The venue is just over 21 miles from the SeaTac Airport and downtown Seattle, allowing competitors and their guests to explore and enjoy many great aspects of the Pacific Northwest. 

For some, perhaps it’s an opportunity to revisit some favorite things or try some new ones, after being in nearby Bellevue for the ATC Grand Nationals in January. 

The convention center itself features 50,000 square feet of uninterrupted exhibit space, a large ballroom/meeting space, and more than 42,000 additional square feet of event space, along with an attached 300-room hotel.

Within walking distance are nearly 1,000 more hotel rooms and all the things visitors would hope to find while away for business or vacation – museums, shopping, food and drink options, art galleries, entertainment, and more.

There are many free or budget-friendly things to do when not at the convention center, including a variety of museums and parks, the Port of Tacoma’s observation deck, trails for skating/walking/biking – and even a saltwater beach at Kopachuck State Park.

The variety of dining options in Tacoma is robust, too, so everyone in your group will find something delicious. HERE is a dining guide for the area.  

If there’s enough time during the trip to venture toward Seattle, there are many things to check out – the Space Needle, Pikes Place Market, the Museum of Flight, and the Seattle Aquarium. There are many parks, and places to hike – even whale watching!

Foodwise, Washington State and its coast are great spots for seafood and chowder, sushi – and even hot dogs, as the area has its spin on the old favorite. A Seattle dog comes with a not-so-secret ingredient on it – cream cheese!

The League by Varsity All Star

The League by Varsity All Star presented by Corksic;e is the official ranking system for the sport of All Star cheerleading, changing the conversation from “Who won the weekend?” to “Who ranks at the top this season?” 

Every team that competes at a Varsity All Star Event this season will be included in The League by Varsity All Star. 

Team rankings are determined by the Points System displayed here. At each Varsity All Star event your team competes, your team will earn points based on the assigned event and placement point value. 

At the end of the season, your five best Varsity All Star event scores will be used to calculate your final rank. 

In total, 120 winners will be recognized from first to third place across each region. One champion will be crowned in each of the five regions across the eight eligible divisions, meaning 40 champions will be awarded in total. Champions will win cash and prizes!
