What To Know About The Georgia World Congress Center
CHEERSPORT is headed back to Atlanta and the Georgia World Congress Center, and the festivities will begin with the 2024 edition of CHEERSPORT Friday Night Live, which will benefit St. Jude.
The GWCC is located in downtown Atlanta and provides 1.5 million square feet of exhibit space, which allows for flexibility in hosting a variety of events. It opened in 1976 and has been through three expansions – 1985, 1992 and 2002 – to keep up with growth and demands.
The venue now has a dozen exhibit halls in all, two ballrooms, three auditoriums, nearly 100 meeting rooms, landscaped outdoor spaces and approximately 7,000 parking spaces.
The convention center is just a piece of an expansive campus overseen by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority.
The campus spans more than 220 acres and also includes Centennial Olympic Park (from the 1996 Summer Olympic Games) and Mercedez-Benz Stadium (home of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United).
An on-site hotel scheduled to open in 2024 – Signia by Hilton Atlanta.
