Insider Info: 2024 Aloha Grand Nationals

Aloha Grand Nationals is one of more than a dozen events on the Aloha Spirit Championships calendar for 2024 that bring the familiar competitions to major cities from coast to coast.

This time, athletes and their guests will say aloha to Phoenix and the Phoenix Convention Center, a venue that has become the home of Aloha Grand Nationals, and Varsity TV will be there to provide live coverage of the event.

Since 2001, Aloha Spirit events have been bringing a bit of Hawaiian flair to the competition stage, and that has been the same in 2024, with visits to Oregon, Tennessee, Massachusetts, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Arizona, Virginia, Indiana, New York, Florida and Arkansas in the plans.

At each luau-themed event, competitors and guests dress in Hawaii-themed attire and compete for awards with a similar look and feel. At these events, everyone is “Ohana” or family.

Another special feature of each event is a 3-foot custom trophy known as the KA MAHALO Award. It is given to the team that exemplifies the spirit of the islands and displays above-and-beyond sportsmanship through the weekend.

Enjoy complete coverage of the event, as standout teams from Division I and Division II go head-to-head with their sights set on obtaining points to The League and a bid to one of the prestigious end-of-season championships!

The League by Varsity All Star

The League by Varsity All Star is the official ranking system for the sport of All Star cheerleading, changing the conversation from “Who won the weekend?” to “Who ranks at the top this season?”

Every team that competes at a Varsity All Star Event this season will be included in The League by Varsity All Star.

Team rankings are determined by the Points System displayed here. At each Varsity All Star event your team competes, your team will earn points based on the assigned event and placement point value.

At the end of the season, your five best Varsity All Star event scores will be used to calculate your final rank.

In total, 120 winners will be recognized from first to third place across each region. One champion will be crowned in each of the five regions across the eight eligible divisions, meaning 40 champions will be awarded in total. Champions will win cash and prizes!
