How Does Earning Points Early On Help Your Team?
The more times a team competes, the better the chances are for earning the most amount of points in The Varsity Cheer League. Teams that compete early on in the season in November and December get off to a great start for earning those points. As the New Year comes around, teams will have already started to gather plenty of points. This can be a great strategy for teams as it could catapult them in The Leaderboard standings later on in the season once they've surpassed six total events. Once a team has competed at more than six events, they have the opportunity to drop a lower point value for a higher point value which can increase their overall points total on their regional leaderboard.
How Does The Rankings System Work?
Team rankings are determined by the Points System displayed here. At each Varsity All Star event your team competes at, your team will earn points based on the event and your team's final placement. Super National events are worth the most amount points with the potential to earn 700 points. Teams have the opportunity to earn 700 points at five events this season including Spirit Cheer Super Nationals, JAMfest Cheer Super Nationals, CHEERSPORT, NCA All-Star Nationals, and USA All Star Super Nationals.
A team's top 6 event point totals will be added up to determine their spot in the regional race. Additionally, teams are going head to head in the total points race where all point totals are accumulated. All those points will be added up and showcased on The Leaderboard.
The rankings system places teams in their respective conference across five different regions: The Northeast, The Midwest, The Southeast, The Southwest, and The West. Their are 42 eligible conference broken down into division specific groupings including:
- D1 Youth
- D2 Youth
- D1 Junior
- D2 Junior
- D1 Senior
- D2 Senior
- D1 Coed (Junior/Senior combined)
- D2 Coed (Junior/Senior combined)
- League 6 - All Girl
