Insider Info: 2024 Aloha Baton Rouge Showdown
Everything you need to know to watch the 2024 Aloha Baton Rouge Showdown on Varsity TV on Nov. 16.
Aloha Spirit is back in action for the first time since April, and the new calendar kicks off with a return to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Varsity TV will provide live coverage of the event!
This is the first of 15 events that will bring a taste of Hawaii to the eastern part of the United States, and there’s no better way to get through the colder months than with a festive luau – except maybe being immersed in the eclectic and colorful culture of Louisiana’s capital city.
The Aloha Baton Rouge Showdown will bring All Star cheer teams to the Raising Cane’s River Center, where they’ll enjoy a delightful combination of top-tier competition and Southern hospitality.
Since 2001, Aloha Spirit events have been bringing a bit of Hawaiian flair to each competition. At the luau-themed events, there is an emphasis on “Ohana” or family, and even the awards share the same sentiment.
Another special feature of each event is a 3-foot custom trophy known as the KA MAHALO Award. It is given to the team that exemplifies the spirit of the islands and displays above-and-beyond sportsmanship throughout the competition.
Enjoy complete coverage of the event, as teams go head-to-head with their sights set on obtaining points to The Varsity Cheer League by Varsity All Star and a bid to one of the prestigious end-of-season championships!

The expansive property at the Raising Cane’s River Center, located in downtown Baton Rouge, now includes three venues that have the ability and flexibility to host almost any type of event. There’s a convention center, a theatre for performing arts, and an arena.
For larger events, the grand ballroom and exhibition hall offer more than 200,000 square feet of versatile space, plus meeting rooms, concessions, and a kitchen area. They’re perfect for conventions, trade shows, exhibitions, and even the world’s largest bowling tournament, which was held there in 2005 and 2012 and will return in 2025.
The theatre seats 1,800 and is the perfect venue for shows, plays, musicals, ballets, and more.
When more space is needed, the arena features 10,000 seats and is ideal for concerts, graduations, sporting events, performances – anything really.
