Another action-packed dual-event weekend will be taking place at the Raising Cane’s River Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Nov. 16-17.
The venue first will extend its Southern hospitality to the festive folks at Aloha Spirt for their season-opening Aloha Baton Rouge Showdown on Saturday, and the stage then will belong to the competitors at the 2024 UCA Baton Rouge Regional on Sunday.
The Baton Rouge Regional is one of almost 50 regional events facilitated across the country each year by the Universal Cheerleaders Association, along with the annual UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
By having such a variety of events, teams can compete close to home and keep expenses down, while having the chance to qualify for the season-ending events.

What To Know About The Baton Rouge River Center
The Raising Cane’s River Center is located in downtown Baton Rouge, steps away from the waters of the mighty Mississippi River and surrounded by robust Cajun and Creole culture and cuisine.
The property includes three venues that have the ability and flexibility to host almost any type of event. There’s a convention center, a theatre for performing arts, and an arena.
For larger events, the grand ballroom and exhibition hall offer more than 200,000 square feet of versatile space, plus meeting rooms, concessions, and a kitchen area. It’s perfect for conventions, trade shows, exhibitions – even the world’s largest bowling tournament, which was held there in 2005 and 2012 and will return in 2025.
The theatre seats 1,800 and is the ideal spot for shows, plays, musicals, ballets, and more.
When more space is needed, the arena features 10,000 seats and is ideal for concerts, graduations, sporting events, performances, the 2024 UCA Baton Rouge Regional – anything really.
The versatile River Center campus is home to the Baton Rouge Zydeco hockey team, Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, Baton Rouge Ballet, and Broadway in Baton Rouge series.
The area around the River Center is ever-changing, so even if you were there last year, there might be something new to see nearby or a great show or event rolling through the Red Stick.

Things To Do In Baton Rouge
Baton Rouge is the capital city of Louisiana, so it’s often bustling with important business and activity, but it’s also a melting pot of diverse and delicious cultures – French, Spanish, and Creole – that help make it lively and fun and delicious.
The city is full of buildings and landmarks that have played significant roles in more than 300 years of history, while countless other places and attractions celebrate the region’s culture.
Whether you’re inside enjoying a museum gallery or sporting event, or outside enjoying the serenity of the river or a boat ride through a swamp, you will not be bored in Baton Rouge.
The area also has a great zoo and the campuses of Louisiana State University and Southern University.
If there’s limited time to explore, the main must-do activity might be getting a sampling of the local cuisine. There are few places where the selection is as robust or authentic.
Enjoy boudin balls, gator tail, crawfish, fried catfish, dirty rice, muffuletta, king cake, red beans and rice, beignets, gumbo, shrimp and grits, jambalaya, etouffee, and po-boy sandwiches.
For those getting to town early, there will be a comedy show at the River Center on Nov. 15, and the Zydeco hockey team will welcome the Mississippi Sea Wolves for a game the same night.
If you haven’t been to the area before, try to make time to also visit New Orleans, which is about 73 miles away and offers an even more magnificent cultural experience.
