The 2024 UCA Magnolia Regional, one of the bigger events on the expansive Universal Cheerleaders Association schedule, will bring competitors to the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson, Mississippi, and Varsity TV will be there to provide live coverage of the event.

The UCA Magnolia Regional will last two days, allowing High School, Recreational, and Game-Day cheer teams to participate.

Recreational and Division II teams will compete on Dec. 7, while Division I competitors take the stage on Dec. 8, following the same format as the 2024 UCA Space Center Regional, which kicked off the new season in October. 

The active UCA calendar and variety of locations help add to the five decades of UCA tradition, which is built on competitions focused on combining the motivation and excitement of cheerleading and the entertainment of high-level skills and athleticism.

The Magnolia Regional is one of almost 50 regional events facilitated across the country each year by UCA, along with the annual UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

By having so many options, teams can compete close to home, and maybe more frequently, while keeping expenses down during their quest to qualify for the season-ending events.

What To Know About The Mississippi Coliseum

The Mississippi Coliseum is part of the vast Mississippi Fairgrounds Complex in downtown Jackson, Mississippi, which covers 105 acres and welcomes more than 700 events every year, thanks to the variety of buildings and facilities.

Among the premier events are the Mississippi State Fair, which was held in October, and the Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo, scheduled for February. 

The Coliseum features more than 25,000 square feet of space, permanent seating for 6,500, temporary seating for another 3,500, high ceilings, dressing rooms for teams and individuals, and experience with everything from rodeos to ice shows.

The other buildings are the Mississippi State Fairgrounds are the Mississippi Trade Mart (110,000 square feet that can be divided into three halls), and equine center and livestock facilities.
