The 2024 UCA Pocono Regional is one of two multi-day Universal Cheerleaders Association regional events taking place the weekend of Dec. 7-8, and Varsity TV will be there to provide live coverage across both days.

The UCA Pocono Regional again will take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre Township, Pennsylvania. It will span two days to allow for High School, Recreational, and Game Day cheer teams of all levels a chance to enjoy the spotlight.

Recreational and Division II teams will compete on Dec. 7, while Division I competitors take the stage on Dec. 8, following the same format as the 2024 UCA Space Center Regional, which kicked off the new season in October, along with the UCA Magnolia Regional taking place in Mississippi on Dec. 7-8.

The active UCA calendar and variety of locations help add to the five decades of UCA tradition, which is built on competitions focused on combining the motivation and excitement of cheerleading and the entertainment of high-level skills and athleticism.

The Pocono Regional is one of almost 50 regional events facilitated across the country each year by UCA, along with the annual UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

By having so many options, teams are able to compete close to home, and maybe more frequently, while keeping expenses down during their quest to qualify for the season-ending events.

What To Know About The Mohegan Sun Arena At Casey Plaza

The Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza is celebrating a milestone this year – 25 years of bringing events to Wilkes-Barre Township, Pennsylvania!

The venue opened in 1999 as a home to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League, and the team still resides there. For cheer fans who also love hockey and end up in town early or late, the Penguins will be playing in the arena on Dec. 4 and Dec. 11.

The arena has permanent seating for 8,000 and room for up to 10,000 for concerts.
