The National Cheerleaders Association already has had a busy fall to kick off the 2024-2025 season, and the organization will roll through the Lone Star State once again, this time for the 2024 NCA State of Texas Championship on Dec. 14.

The event will take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, a venue familiar with top-tier cheer events, and Varsity TV will be there to provide live coverage of the event.

Since 1948, NCA has been on the cutting edge of all things competitive cheerleading and lived by the motto “The Work Is Worth It.”

For more than 75 years, the organization has been focused on competition, camps/instruction, and philanthropy, all geared toward helping participants become the best cheerleaders, leaders, and people they can become.

What To Know About The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center

The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center features a million square feet of exhibit space, three ballrooms, 88 meeting rooms, a 1,750-seat theater, and a 9,816-seat arena, and it’s connected to a hotel with more than 1,000 rooms.

The venue has established itself as one of the premier, and busiest, destinations in the country by welcoming a variety of events. The list includes many types of conventions, meetings, concerts, competitions, sporting events, and trade shows.

The 2024 NCA State of Texas Championship is one of many cheer events to be held within the halls of the facility, so there definitely will be some familiarity for the competitors and their guests as they navigate the convention center and the neighborhood. Some may even be back in January for the NCA High School National Championship.

If taking in a professional game is of interest, the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys will be on the road to face the Carolina Panthers the weekend of the cheer event, and the Dallas Mavericks will be enjoying a week off, but the NHL’s Dallas Stars will be hosting the St. Louis Blues at the nearby American Airlines Center on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. Central.

It’s also the holiday season, so there will be some great holiday-themed activities and shopping to explore across the metroplex.
