It looks like Baird Center in Milwaukee will be a hotspot of cheer and dance activity during the weekend of Jan. 10-12, as the venue will be hosting a pair of All Star events.

The weekend will conclude with the one-day 2025 NCA Milwaukee Classic for All Star cheer teams (Jan. 12), which will follow two days of elite dancing at the 2025 DanceFest Grand Nationals (Jan. 10-11).

The NCA Milwaukee Classic is part of a busy schedule that includes almost two dozen events that will bring All Star cheerleading from Texas to the East Coast and back again from November through April. 

Since 1948, NCA has been on the cutting edge of all things competitive cheerleading and lived by the motto “The Work Is Worth It.”

For more than 75 years, the organization has been focused on competition, camps/instruction and philanthropy, all geared toward helping participants become the best cheerleaders, leaders and people they can become.

What To Know About Baird Center

Opened in 1998, Baird Center is a focal point of downtown Milwaukee and has become known as an architectural and innovative marvel. 

The facility recently underwent a $456 million expansion, with a focus on becoming certified as a sensory-inclusive venue. The project began in October 2021 and celebrated its grand opening in May 2024. Check out some of the highlights of the project here.

Baird Center now includes nearly 300,000 square feet of uninterrupted exhibit space, a sizeable ballroom, and 52 meeting rooms, along with the Miller High Life Theatre, which can seat about 4,100 guests, and the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena, home to the UW-Milwaukee men’s basketball team, the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals, Major League Soccer’s Milwaukee Wave and an amateur roller derby squad, the Brewcity Bruisers.

The League by Varsity All Star

The League by Varsity All Star is the official ranking system for the sport of All Star cheerleading, changing the conversation from “Who won the weekend?” to “Who ranks at the top this season?”

Every team that competes at a Varsity All Star event this season will be included in The Varsity Cheer League.

Team rankings are determined by the points system displayed here. At each Varsity All Star event your team competes, your team will earn points based on the assigned event and placement point value.

At the end of the season, your six best Varsity All Star event scores will be used to calculate your final rank.

In total, 128 winners will be recognized from first to third place across each region. 

One champion will be crowned in each of the five regions across the eight eligible divisions and two League 6 conferences, meaning 42 championships will be awarded in total. Champions will win cash and prizes!
