The $186 million Alamodome opened in 1993 and continues to be both versatile and very busy.
The venue is home to the University of Texas at San Antonio football team, annually hosts the Valero Alamo Bowl (college football), welcomes many concerts, trade shows and other events, and previously was the home of the world champion San Antonio Spurs (NBA).

Things To Do In San Antonio
San Antonio has a long history and diverse culture, both evident in the area’s countless monuments and important sights, but the area also features many modern conveniences to help make all the must-do activities even more enjoyable.
The city was built on a combination of Spanish, Mexican, German and cowboy culture, and all of that can be found in the architecture, food and landscape. There are many tours, museums, monuments, buildings, homes, parks and waterways that recognize and celebrate these things.
You can visit one of Texas’ most significant landmarks, the Alamo, which joins the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
If you’d rather be relaxing, instead of learning, spend the day along the San Antonio River enjoying the River Walk, a public park with boat rides, attractions, wildlife, shopping, dining and entertainment.
Beyond the two main attractions, there’s a Six Flags amusement park, SeaWorld, sporting events and a ton of shopping or dining possibilities. Check out this San Antonio dining guide.
