Everything you need to know to watch the 2025 NCA South Texas Regional on Varsity TV on Oct. 26.

It’s just the beginning of the new competitive cheer season, but the 2025 NCA South Texas Regional will be the second major event for which San Antonio has opened its arms and doors.
The Alamo City and the Freeman Coliseum first will welcome All Star cheer teams for the festive Cheer Power San Antonio Halloween Challenge on Oct. 25, followed by the region’s top school teams for the NCA South Texas Regional on Oct. 26.
The South Texas Regional is the first of its nearly 20 National Cheerleaders Association events this season, and Varsity TV will be there to provide live coverage of the competition.
Since 1948, NCA has been on the cutting edge of all things competitive cheerleading and lived by the motto “The Work Is Worth It.”
For close to 80 years, NCA has been focused on competition, camps/instruction and philanthropy, all geared toward helping participants become the best cheerleaders, leaders and people they can become.
The NCA’s season-opening event will see school teams and recreational teams get the new season rolling, potentially with a pair of great events in one trip for some competitors.
They’ll be aiming for a coveted early-season championship, while eyeing a spot in the 2025 NCA High School National Championship in late January.
Enjoy complete coverage of the NCA South Texas Regional, which will include school cheer teams, mascot performances, a game day category and traditional rec team performances.

What To Know About The Freeman Coliseum
San Antonio and the Freeman Coliseum have become familiar to cheer teams and their families, but both have been premier destinations for all types of events for decades.
The Freeman Coliseum also is the former home of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo and San Antonio Spurs, both of which now reside at the nearby Frost Bank Center.
The Coliseum itself, constructed in 1949, offers 32,000 square feet of space for events and 10,000 parking spaces for competitors, family and friends.
Its versatility allows for sporting events, concerts, trade shows, the circus, bull riding and more – including annual visits now from the Cheer Power San Antonio Halloween Challenge and the NCA South Texas Regional.
The campus is just northeast of downtown San Antonio and also includes the Freeman Exhibition Hall. That provides another 170,000 square feet for additional events and activities.
