What To Know About The Raising Cane’s River Center
With three events taking place over one exciting weekend in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and not the first time the Raising Cane’s River Center has hosted elite cheer events, many teams and their supporters likely are familiar with the venue and the capital city of the Pelican State.
Any cheer fans who frequently visit Varsity TV’s website might feel like they’ve read this story before, but we promise, you’re not losing your mind. It’s just three amazing events in one incredible location!
For almost four decades, the River Center has been welcoming hundreds of events each year to Louisiana’s capital city of Baton Rouge, and that includes a growing presence for top-tier cheer events each season.
The River Center, which opened in 1977 and was renovated in 1993, 1998, 2003, 2004 and 2011, is located in downtown Baton Rouge, steps away from the waters of the Mississippi River and surrounded by robust Cajun and Creole culture and cuisine.
The property includes three venues that can be transformed to host almost any type of event. There’s a convention center, theatre for performing arts and an arena.
The theater is a more intimate venue, with seating for 1,700, which is perfect for plays, orchestra performances, ballets and similar events.
The convention center includes a huge exhibition hall, that has even been transformed into a semi-permanent bowling facility for the months-long United States Bowling Congress Open (and Women’s) Championships, plus a grand ballroom, more than a dozen meetings rooms and concourse space for just about anything.
Together, the grand ballroom and exhibition hall offer more than 200,000 square feet of versatile space, plus the meeting rooms, concessions and a kitchen area. It’s perfect for conventions, trade shows and exhibitions.
When more space is needed, the arena features 10,000 seats and is ideal for concerts, graduations, sporting events, performances and more.
The area around the River Center is ever-changing, so even if you were there last year, there might be something new to see nearby or a great show or event rolling through the Red Stick.
