In celebration of National School Spirit Day, Bronco fans stood with pride last Friday, Sept. 25th when their commitment to school spirit was recognized as they were awarded the title of America’s Most Spirited High School. Thousands of fans, students, and administrators gathered at a school wide pep rally in which Vista Murrieta High School, from Murrieta, CA, was presented with a $25,000 grant from Varsity Brands, the recognized leader in team athletic and spirit gear, from sports and cheerleading uniforms to school rings.
High schools from across the country were encouraged to enter the contest, which called for each school to submit a 90-second video, a 500-word essay, two letters of recommendation and several photos demonstrating its school spirit. High schools from 33 states were represented according to a news release from Varsity Brands. The video submitted by Vista Murrieta received the most nationwide votes online at nationalspiritday.org and beat out other top finalists; Enterprise High School (AL), Greenwood High School (AR), and Richardson High School (TX).
School spirit to the Bronco family is more than just wearing the colors blue and gold; it’s a way of life and sense of community instilled with the philosophy of CLASS: Character, Leadership. Attitude, Scholarship and Service.
Congratulations Vista Murrieta Broncos on this great honor!

We are extremely honored to receive the distinction of being selected as the Most Spirited High School in the nation. It is truly a team effort, and the recipe for our success is the way we all work together to make our school the best it can be in the 4 A’s (Academics, Activities, Athletics, and the Arts). Go Broncos!– Kurt Ruth(Vista Murrieta HS BBC Advisor)
