You might know that NCA & NDA All-Star Nationals is one of the biggest cheerleading events in the world. You may even have family member, friend or teammate.
You might know that NCA & NDA All-Star Nationals is one of the biggest cheerleading events in the world. You may even have family member, friend or teammate who has earned a coveted first place win.
But how well do you really know the ins and outs of NCA Nationals? Here are the top ten facts you need to know to prepare for this weekend’s championship:
1) Teams compete in seven different venues. Cheer teams use six different halls, with dance teams performing in the theatre.
2) Teams from 37 U.S. States will be represented, solidifying NCA & NDA All-Star nationals as one of the nation’s largest cheerleading competitions.
3) Eight foreign countries will be represented. These include Japan, Mexico, Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, England, Chile and New Zealand.
4) L5 Senior Small Coed is this year’s largest division, with 34 teams competing.
5) There are 1,285 teams competing, totaling over 25,000 athletes!
6) Texas has more teams competing than any other U.S. state. No surprise, since the competition is hosted in Dallas!
7) Worlds bids are given at NCA All-Star Nationals. Eight paid cheer bids and 16 At Large bids (24 total).
8) Dance bids are given, too! Teams competing in the dance divisions have the opportunity to win five Partial Paid Bids and nine At Large bids (14 total.)
9) Don’t forget about Summit bids! NCA Nationals will be giving out a total of 30 bids to the Summit (41 including dance).
10) This competition is almost 30 years old. The earliest recorded winner of NCA All-Star Nationals is from 1988, the Gulf Breeze Sports Association in Gulf Breeze, FL.
