Aside from the football game...another victory was on the line...When there's a longstanding rivalry between two schools whose traditions run deep, you know you're in for a Friday night booming with spirit. And that's exactly what the Milton Eagles got on game day when they hosted their arch rival, Roswell, on the gridiron September 30. Each year, the Milton fans and spirit squads show up decked out in their camo themed attire ready for a V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!
The two Georgia teams have played each other a total of 62 times in school history, so you could say this friendly rivalry has been in the making for decades. But aside from the football game that was on the line, which Roswell won 17-0, both schools were also competing in the Great American Rivalry Series Challenge! Fitness classes at both schools were asked to participate by performing push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups and a shuttle run in the week leading up to the game. The school with the overall top performing students would be crowned rivalry champs!
The winner of the challenge was announced at halftime during the game, and this year the Milton Eagles took home the title.
