Zumwalt West: One Team, One Fight, One Dream
The Fort Zumwalt West dance team has been working to make 2017 the most memorable season yet after placing 2nd last year at the UDA National Dance Team Championship.
Fort Zumwalt West High School has been climbing the rankings in the dance world since their first time taking the stage at the UDA National Dance Team Championship in 2009. The ladies made hip hop finals for the first time in 2013 and three short years later they took home the silver medal. This talented dance team has been working to make 2017 the most memorable season yet.
"We had very strong leadership, talented dancers, and a lot of heart. We had good music, memorable moments in our choreography, and a group of dancers who had a lot of energy." said Assistant Coach Colleen Carriker. "Everything just really seemed to fit into place last year."
One team with one chance to make it to the top...
"We've worked hard cleaning our routine, making sure we have memorable moments, innovative choreography, and something people have not seen before. Our goal is always the same...to make finals & dance on Sunday." explained Head Coach Colleen Carriker. Head Coach Rachel Damlow & Assistant Coach Colleen Carriker say the goal for the squad this year is to make it to finals in both dance categories on Sunday.

This team knows it's easier to get to the top, than it is to stay there.Long hours of practice and dedication earned these ladies a silver in 2016. Fort Zumwalt West wants to prove that last years success was no fluke and that they deserve to be amongst the top teams.
