The Cheer Pitt Is Ready To Take On America's Best National Championship
The Cheer Pitt Pittsburgh is back and ready for a successful weekend at the America's Best National Championship in Kansas City.
The Cheer Pitt in Pittsburgh is back and ready for a successful weekend at the America's Best National Championship in Kansas City after a conflict caused them to miss the national championship in 2016.
Monica Holmes is the head coach at the Cheer Pitt's Pittsburgh location, and she will be bring three talented teams to the national championship -- Senior 3 Blackout, Senior 2 Lady Strike, and Junior 3 Boltz.
"Our style has not changed much," Holmes said. "We have always strived for clean routines and this year we tried to make the routines as difficult as we could without risking technique points."
Cheer Pitt said their biggest strengths are their stunts and flyer flexibility.
Be sure to keep an eye out for a special moment in Blackout's routine dance. The squad ends their dance with all of the graduating seniors standing in a line. This big moment give the seniors a moment to shine in the spotlight as they celebrate their final season. "We have a great group of athletes at the Cheer Pitt," Holmes said.
Made up from a variety of different cheerleading backgrounds, this dream team of coaches works hard to make every team successful.
"We try to find what our strengths are for each team, and what each of us brings to the table to make them successful," Holmes explained. "Our athletes know we will work hard to give them the routine and the knowledge they need to be successful. What they do with that is up to them."

The ones that have been with us the longest are the leaders in the gym, as new ones come in they take on the role of showing them our way and leading by example. We have very high expectations, but we also know you cannot force work ethic and positive attitudes on athletes, they either have it or they don't.
