West Fargo Kicks For The Gold!

West Fargo High School performed today in the Varsity High Kick Finals at the 2018 UDA National Dance Team Championship. This is one of the most prestigious categories of the championship, as it requires impeccable technique, athleticism, and stamina.

West Fargo delivered an extremely high-energy routine as these girls integrated multiple high kick sequences while also executing their separate choreography sections and tricks. The stamina needed to keep those kick lines picture-perfect is incredible.

A must-watch moment of West Fargo's routine happened right after their full squad kick line. The girls linked up and created a bridge and two of the athletes walked over their backs to meet in the middle. After the girls passed over, the teammates would pop back up and immediately join back in to the kick line.

Fast forward to 1:15 to check it out!

This team executed a performance that not only had flawless kicks, but also unique visual elements and formations. To succeed in high kick, flexibility is key. This team highlighted their flexibility by incorporating multiple scorpions in a variety of ways to accent their performance.

They also had an intense energy and hooded costume to match their already amazing routine.

Be sure tune in tonight for the final awards ceremony of the night to see if West Fargo can kick their way to the gold!

Most cheerleaders and dancers join a team at a young age just looking for a hobby or an afterschool activity. But after years of practicing, conditioning, long game days, and competition weekends, these athletes look back on the hours spent with their teammates and realize that cheer and dance taught them a lot more than just the skills they learned on the mat.
