Three-Peat For Pikeville At UCA Nationals!
Pikeville High School from Kentucky claimed its third national title in a row at the 2018 UCA NHSCC!
Small Varsity was the largest division at the 2018 UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida, this past weekend with more than 115 teams. Fifteen teams made it to Finals in Small Varsity Division II, and Pikeville High School from Kentucky hit a SOLID routine, sending the Panthers to the top as national champions for the third year in a row!
Pikeville had spins, spins, and MORE spins throughout its incredible energy-filled routine. The Panthers' stunts were rock solid, and the cheer had the HP Field House on its feet!
“Any time you win it’s a huge accomplishment, so to think that we’ve done it for three years in a row with a lot of the same kids — it's outstanding," Pikeville coach Kandice Branham said.
Branham added: “Hearing the kids announced as national champions and getting to watch them celebrate, it never gets old. Knowing they spent many long hours in the gym and gave up many other activities, it all pays off.”
As for Pikeville in the future, the team is only losing two seniors and 10 of its 12 members who competed in 2018 will be returning next year. You can only expect great things from the Panthers in the years to come!
