Florida Top Dog All Stars is ready to take on the competition at the 2018 UCA International All Star Cheerleading Championship in Orlando.

Based out of Largo, Florida, the program is excited about two of their top-notch teams to take the mat this weekend at one of the most prestigious championship events of the season. Florida Top Dog’s Level 5 Small Senior Restricted team, Thunder, and their Level 5 Small Senior Coed team, Rain, will be competing for a title this weekend at UCA.

In 2017, Thunder earned the top spot in the Level 5 Small Senior Coed Restricted division. Winning a title at the championship was an important milestone for their program.

“UCA is about tradition and excellence in cheerleading. A UCA title is prestigious.” - Coach Terri Abasial.

This season, Thunder is in a new division and the team hopes their showmanship and unique stunts will send them to the top.

Florida Top Dog Rain has continuously been a strong competitor in the Small Senior Coed 5 division. Their impeccable basket technique wowed the crowd at the 2017 championship and got the attention of the cheer fans everywhere.

Rain’s solid performances this season have landed them in the top three at many major competitions. The team earned second place at CHEERSPORT Nationals and finished in third at NCA-All Star Nationals this past month.

What’s the secret to Rain’s season of success? The athletes at Florida Top Dog have a love for performing that spreads throughout their entire program.

“This team's love for each other is contagious. There are lots of kids that have grown up together in the program from Minis to Youth to Junior teams and now cheer together on Rain,” added Abasial.

With a bronze and a silver placement thus far, will UCA be Rain’s chance to take home the gold? Be sure to tune in to Varsity TV Saturday at 2:40 PM ET in the HP Field House to watch Rain take the floor on Day 1 of UCA All Star.
