2018 NCA & NDA College Game Day Division Preview

From the sideline to the bandshell, history will be made as college spirit squads compete in the first-ever NCA & NDA Game Day Championship!

The 14 teams competing in this brand-new division will take their sideline traditions to the mat to display how they lead their community and fans at their schools.

During the championship, teams will perform their school's traditional fight song, a band chant section, and a crowd-leading section. Schools can combine cheer, dance, mascots, band, flag corps, and drum lines to make one large spirit-filled team. Participants are encouraged to use signs, flags, megaphones, and poms to encourage the crowd to cheer along.

The preparation for the championship started at NCA & NDA College Spirit Camp this summer, when spirit squads prepared and perfected their game day skills and performances.

Each performance is limited to three minutes and should include skills that influence crowd participation. Teams will be evaluated on their ability to lead the crowd, proper game day skill incorporations, execution of skills, motion technique, and the overall routine impression.
