University of Louisville Wins 18th NCA Coed Title

The Cardinals are flying high today as Louisville's coed team earned their 18th NCA title in 2018.

The Bandshell in Daytona Beach, Florida, has hosted thousands of incredible performances over the years at the NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer & Dance National Championship. Each season, the level of athleticism and phenomenal skills is taken up a notch, but the rich collegiate traditions and talent have remained.

The performances from the Coed Cheer Division IA teams are always highly anticipated. Fans have come to expect high energy, entertaining routines that max out on difficulty with high-flying baskets, impressive 1-1-1 pyramids and visual, elite coed skills.

The storied history of the division is filled with unforgettable moments and powerful legacies. This year, the University of Louisville added a new golden chapter.

“Part of cheering for Louisville is the legacy of this program, and the athletes and teams that have come before us. We just wanted to repeat the legacy and we finally did it. We brought it back.”

The University of Louisville Coed team finished in third place in 2017. The 2018 championship title marks the 18th win for the program in this division. Their past wins include: 1985, '86, '89, '92, '94, '96, '98, '99, '03, '04, '05, '06, '07, '08, '09, ’11, ‘16, and now 2018.
