Maryland Twisters crossed their home state this weekend to compete at Reach The Beach Nationals with 12 of their top teams. All of Maryland Twisters Level 1 and 2 teams along with their Worlds teams took the mat at the championship in Ocean City.
The Twisters have continuously performed well at Reach The Beach, and the competition is a program favorite. Both locations meet up at this event and teams get to bond as a program.
“With Reach the Beach being at the end of the season, it’s a great way for our team to show how strong they are as a team and how far they’ve come since the beginning of the season.” –Coach Kristina Albright
Maryland Twisters had a solid Day 1 with multiple teams hitting zero and holding onto a first-place rank. The programs Small Senior 2 team was a fan-favorite and one to watch on Day 2.

One Maryland Twisters team you don't want to miss is their Medium Senior Coed 5 team, Reign.
"I believe we have been attending Reach The Beach since 2012, and Reign has won every time we have attended," said coach Matt Green. "We actually had to get a new bid last year and thankfully we were able to earn it at RTB and we loved representing Epic!"
Reign is almost entirely new and comprised of 25 new-to-Reign athletes who are super hungry and excited to take the mat for Day 2 of the championship.
"The routine is very much the Twister style: in-your-face and fast-paced."
"I believe one of our strengths is that we are very well-rounded this year," Green added. "We have been focusing on every part of the scoresheet to make sure we are maxing out in difficulty. Our boys are amazing and really have pushed their tumbling this year. Most importantly, the athletes love to put on a show!"

Along with Reign, the programs Large Senior 5 team has been a favorite this season. F5 crafted an exciting and entertaining baseball-themed routine.
“From the uniforms to music, it is a fully developed concept that is fun. And the team strengths are great tumbling and performing. They are able to convey each baseball concept in a fun cheer-esque way," explained F5 Coach William Stokes-Murray.

For some of the Twisters, Reach The Beach is their last competition of the season. A handful of their teams will continue on to one of the end-of-season championship events.
The program is sending all four of their Worlds teams to Orlando, with three out of the four holding paid bids. The Twisters are also sending six teams to The Summit, which is the most their program has ever had. They are hoping to earn a couple more bids this weekend for their teams as well!
