Woodcreek defeated Rockling High School to claim the title of 2018 California State CSC STUNT Champions!
Woodcreek dominated the 1st Quarter of the 2018 California State CSC STUNT Championship Finals. Partner Stunts is something the No. 1 seed is very strong in and they took an early lead with a score of 4-1 at the end of the 1st.
Going into Pyramids & Tosses, Rocklin had the possession and needed to be strategic when calling the routine in order to win back the lost points.
They called Routine 3 and after an official review, the round was called a tie and both teams received a point bringing the score to Woodcreek 5, Rocklin 2. Woodcreek went on to take the next round.
Challenges played a big part in the CSC STUNT Championship with a challenge being called in nearly every game. In the regular STUNT season, teams do not have challenges but during the CSC STUNT Championship coaches have the ability to use one challenge per game.
Rocklin called a challenge in the third round of the 2nd Quarter but the official's call stood and the game proceeded.
The crowd was on their feet as the intensity grew in Game 5 and Woodcreek took the next three points and went into the half leading the game 8-2.
With 9 points up for grabs in the 4th Quarter, Rocklin needed to make a big push to get back on top. They called Routine 3 to start the final stretch. During the championship, Rocklin has won a majority of the rounds when calling Routine 3.
Rocklin earned 2 points but it just wasn’t enough to take down Woodcreek High School.
Woodcreek pulled ahead by 3 to end the game 13-10.
