Everything You Need To Know For The 2019 UCA Game Day Championship!

Game day is back and bigger than ever at the 2019 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship in Orlando, Florida.

Teams competing in the division will take their sideline traditions to the mat to display how they lead their community and fans at their schools.

During the championship, teams will perform their traditional school's fight song, a situational sideline and a game day timeout. The athletes are encouraged to use signs, flags, megaphones and poms to encourage the crowd to cheer along.

The preparation for the championship started at UCA & UDA College Spirit Camp this summer where spirit squads learned a game day timeout routine, prepared a sideline and perfected their school’s traditional fight song.

The order for the Game Day Championship will be random based on the audio cues.

Each performance is limited to three minutes and should include skills that influence crowd participation. Teams of up to 30 athletes will be evaluated on their ability to lead the crowd, proper game day skill incorporations, execution of skills, motion technique and the overall routine.

The Bearcats from the University of Cincinnati earned the first-ever Coed Division lA Game Day Championship title with their spirited routine in 2018. The team brought some of its favorite game day traditions to the mat and is coming back in 2019 to defend its title.

Last year, the Ole Miss All Girl took home the first-ever All Girl Division lA Game Day championship title.

The squad incorporated unique “D-fins” signs in the place of traditional "defense" signs to honor its football team's defensive unit, popularly known as the Landsharks. The chant lit up the crowd as the Ole Miss cheerleaders cued a response from the fan-filled arena.

Both squads from the University of Mississippi are set to return to the championship on Jan. 18 with even more Rebel spirit than before.
