Highland High School Dreams Up A Haunting NDA Performance

If we're dreaming, please don't wake us up.

Large Varsity Hip Hop is one of the most competitive and entertaining divisions at the 2019 NDA National Championship. It has long been known for its elite skills and top to bottom talent, the crowd is guaranteed an afternoon full of show-stopping routines.

Highland High School treated the audience to an imaginative, hair-raising performance that will stick in their minds long after the competition.

From the moment the team floated onto the floor, stretching and yawning in unison to set, every detail was carefully crafted to pull the crowd into their hallucination.

But the real highlight of their weird and wonderful world was the sharp execution of formations and surprise choreography elements—clowns, serpents, spiders and more.

The action from this exciting division is happening now on LIVE on Varsity TV. But no matter how the standings shake out, this is one performance they can go to sleep knowing they left their mark.

Most cheerleaders and dancers join a team at a young age just looking for a hobby or an afterschool activity. But after years of practicing, conditioning, long game days, and competition weekends, these athletes look back on the hours spent with their teammates and realize that cheer and dance taught them a lot more than just the skills they learned on the mat.
