East Celebrity Elite Returns To Reach The Beach!

East Celebrity Elite is back at Reach The Beach Nationals 2019! After taking a break from the competition for a few years, ECE has returned to Ocean City. The program brought seven teams, ranging from their mini to senior teams all looking to take home titles.

“We have only attended this event 1 time prior in 2014,” said Gym Manager and Coach Krystle Madeiros. “That year was exciting in Ocean City because it was the first year our Worlds team FAME, who was small senior at the time ever won a Paid bid to Worlds.”

ECE has been focusing on technique within their stunting, tumbling and jumps this season. They focus on the scoresheet after each competition and relay the feedback to their teams in order to succeed throughout the season.

“We want to make sure we are giving our athletes every opportunity they have to be successful,” said Madeiros, “and feel better each time they take the floor.”

“Every routine created at ECE CT, comes with passion, drive and determination to challenge, strengthen, progress and make our athletes competitive and better every time they step on that mat.” - Krystle Madeiros

Spotlight, the Small Junior Restricted 5 team has an army/strong women theme. They are a team of 13 athletes, with only one previously being a part of a Level 5 team. Watch the team take the mat tonight at 6:40 PM ET in Hall AB!

“They started the team in June with 2 fulls and have now grown that number in Level 5 tumbling as well as the growth of Level 5 stunting,” said Madeiros. “We wanted to bring the Junior 5 division back to the CT gym. We knew with the athletes on our J5 team they would be determined to succeed.”

Reach The Beach 2019 was the perfect competition for East Celebrity Elite to attend this season and they are excited about returning!

“We feel this event is a great location and worked great into our schedule,’ said Madeiros. “We have not been here since 2014 so we are looking forward to returning.”

The competition is just getting started this weekend! The first team took the floor bright and early at 7:40 AM ET this morning and you don’t want to miss ECE compete for titles this weekend. Watch it all LIVE on Varsity TV!

Most cheerleaders and dancers join a team at a young age just looking for a hobby or an afterschool activity. But after years of practicing, conditioning, long game days, and competition weekends, these athletes look back on the hours spent with their teammates and realize that cheer and dance taught them a lot more than just the skills they learned on the mat.
