First Time Summit Team Hopes To Advance To Finals

CNY Vortex went up against 34 other talented teams from 5 different countries in Semi-Finals and they are hoping their Day 1 performance is enough to send them on to Finals tomorrow.
“It’s very exciting!” CNY Coach Becca Rose told Varsity TV. “We have been trying to do this and we weren’t really sure how it was going to work out, but the team worked really hard and we are just so excited.”
CNY Storm All Stars earned their bid to The Summit early on this season at an event in Canada. Since earning their bid in January, the coaches have been working to help the team improve and stand out against the other competitors in their division.
“We knew we would be up against other teams from other counties that have other styles that are really crisp and clean,” explained Rose. “We wanted to be able to look and hang with the best, so we have to look the best too.”
CNY Vortex made their Summit debut today in the Visa Athletic Center and while their routine wasn’t perfect, they walked off the mat with a solid routine they can be proud of!
“Our pyramid was a little shaky and they were fighting to keep it in the air, I think the nerves got to some of us but I’m super proud of them,” Rose added. “They didn’t let anything come down and that is what I told them, I just wanted them to hit their routine, that’s their goal, this is our first time here and we want them to represent CNY with a nice clean hit routine and they did that.”

The L2 International Junior division is one of the last divisions to wrap up tonight and CNY Vortex is anxiously awaiting to find out if they will advance on to Finals.
“If we were fortunate enough to advance to tomorrow I would just want them to do the same thing, to hit their routine and go out there and enjoy it and have fun because you just never know if or when you will get back here.”
