CJA Wants 9 Zeros This Weekend At WSF

For the past four years, Central Jersey All-Stars has made the trip from New Jersey to Kentucky to start their season at the WSF All Star Cheer & Dance Championship.

This weekend, CJA is returning to Louisville with nine teams and one big goal: for every team to hit zero.

It may still be early in the season, but with bids up for grabs, teams like CJA will be giving their all to put a winning routine out on the mat.

“Practices have been going great for all teams,” said owner Patty Ann Romero. “We did have a snowstorm this week so that forced us to close following our Thanksgiving break, but we are working to get all teams in to ensure they are prepared and ready!”

“We are super proud of where all of our teams are at this point in December.”

As for the Worlds level teams at CJA, two out of the three will be taking the mat this weekend at WSF.

Team Gunz, who took bronze at The Cheerleading Worlds in Senior Small Coed, is starting off strong in a new division. The team has moved into the Senior XSmall Coed division and Romero told us they look awesome!

Bombshells also took third in their division last season, and Romero shared that while they have had a few injuries recently, they are extremely resilient and look amazing!

Fans will have to wait until January to see CJA’s newest team, Open Fire, make their debut.

Tune in to Varsity TV December 7-8 to watch CJA and all the talented teams take the mat ar the WSF All Star Cheer and Dance Championship LIVE!

What Cheer Taught Me: Christian Vias

Most cheerleaders and dancers join a team at a young age just looking for a hobby or an afterschool activity. But after years of practicing, conditioning, long game days, and competition weekends, these athletes look back on the hours spent with their teammates and realize that cheer and dance taught them a lot more than just the skills they learned on the mat.
