BREAKING: Varsity Is Planning A One-Of-A-Kind 2020 Summit Championships

It's been a trying time for everyone while waiting out the storm from the recent global pandemic. The all star community has been truly inspiring as we've been holding on to the hope that we might possibly end our seasons together and celebrate a year full of hard work.

Varsity All Star promised to make a decision on all June events, including The Summit Championships, by Friday, April 24, 2020. Today, they released an exciting update!

Varsity All Star Announcement

April 24, 2020 - Across the country, people are looking forward to resuming their lives, including activities that have great personal meaning like cheer and dance. We have been so inspired by how many people have stayed connected in the cheer and dance community during these challenging times. As some states begin to lift restrictions, many customers have reached out to us with the hope that teams will soon be able to come together to practice and travel, while others are still following shelter in place guidelines. In light of this:

We have decided to cancel all of our early June events that were set to take place in select cities. Based on varying state restrictions, timing, and registration commitments, these events will not be possible. For information regarding refunds for these events, please click here.

The Summit, The Dance Summit, The D2 Summit

After recently polling our customers nationwide, we learned that the majority of you would like the opportunity to give your 2020 teams one last “celebration” before moving on to the 2020 - 2021 season.

It is because of this enthusiasm that we are pleased to announce that we are planning to host a one-of-a-kind Summit event on June 19-22, 2020 at the Walt Disney World Resort. There are still some hurdles that we must cross, including the re-opening of the park, but we are working closely with our contacts who are hopeful and optimistic about these dates. We know many of you won’t be able to join us, but for those of you who make the journey, we promise to make this event a completely unique and unforgettable experience!

With this in mind, we invite all cheer and dance teams, of any level and style to compete, including U.S. teams that qualified for the 2020 World Championships. This will make the 2020 Summit Championships a truly awesome, one-of-a-kind event like never before where teams of all kinds can have one last chance to get on the mat and celebrate the end of our season together.

This event will be held at ESPN Wide World of Sports, and additional safety measures as recommended by the Center for Disease Control, the World Health Organization, the guidance of the Walt Disney World Resort, and local, state and federal authorities will be put into place.

If you are able to attend, we recommend that you take adequate time to prepare in advance of The Summit Championships. With athlete safety at the forefront, we will be working with our Varsity All Star Scoring Committee to relax and/or adjust some parts of the score sheet. Changes will be communicated separately in an email to registered teams. We understand the fluidity of the situation and full refunds will be available if your program is unable to attend or if the event is unable to be held for any reason.

The U.S Finals

Since all teams are welcome to attend The Summit Championships, teams who had planned to end their season at The U.S. Finals are also welcome. We are also working on a virtual championship for The U.S. Finals. All teams are welcome to participate in the virtual event, no qualification is needed. Some details have been shared here, and more information will be forthcoming as plans solidify.

The impact of COVID-19 has been unimaginable for us all. At the end of the day, we want to do what is best for the entire community and the sport that we all love. We will continue to monitor this situation and keep you updated as necessary.

Thank you all for being a part of our Varsity Spirit family. We are all in this together.
