Who To Watch: 2022 UDA College National Championship
Before we find out who our new UDA College National Champions will be, let’s take a look back at some of the top programs and divisions from 2021.
This weekend, the nation’s top college spirit programs are set to take the stage in Orlando, Florida, to compete at the 2022 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship.
The competition among the dance programs is unmatched and we are on the edge of our seats waiting to see what these incredible programs bring to the stage this weekend. Before we find out who our new UDA College National Champions will be, let’s take a look back at some of the top programs and divisions from 2021.
In Division IA, The Ohio State University double titled last year taking home big wins in Pom and Jazz. In both categories, the University of Minnesota took second place followed by the Volunteers from the University of Tennessee in third.

The Buckeyes now hold six UDA College National Championship titles. While they might have taken some time off of the marley earlier this month to cheer on their football team to a win at the Rose Bowl, we know Ohio State is ready to put on two powerful and polished routines at UDA College Nationals. We can’t wait to see if they have what it takes to defend their titles in Pom and Jazz.

In Division IA Hip Hop, the University of Memphis took back the coveted UDA Hip Hop title last year for the first time since 2012. The Tigers are an absolute powerhouse in the Hip Hop category as they now hold an impressive 15 UDA National Championship titles.
The University of Nevada Las Vegas, the University of Kentucky, San Diego State, Cincinnati, and LSU are just a few of the other incredible college dance programs that will be working to take the top spot alongside Memphis this year in Division IA Hip Hop.

Over in the Open Dance divisions, Lindenwood University dominated the Jazz and Hip Hop categories. In 2021, the Lions put their heart and soul into their Hip Hop performance and took the top spot with a final score that was more than four points ahead of second place.

But the Lion Line's success didn’t stop there, the Missouri team also took home the 2021 UDA College National Championship title in the Open Jazz division!

And rounding out the Open Dance divisions, St Cloud State University claimed the championship title last year in Open Pom. The Minnesota team fell short of the title in 2020 but the Huskies’ power and precision in 2021 earned them their fourth UDA College National Championship title.

The dance teams here in Orlando never fail to put on a show and while these divisions are always full of surprises, we can’t wait to see which teams will rise to the occasion this weekend to be named 2022 UDA College National Champions.
