Looking Back - A Busy Weekend of Grand Nationals
Preparation Paid Off!
So many teams were prepared for their moment to shine. It's incredible to think about how consistent some of these teams were this early on in December. That means all the hard work put in this Summer & Fall is coming to life. Coming out strong early in the season allows these teams to continue to get stronger as the season moves on!
Level 6 Perfection In A 'Hit Zero' Sense
Hitting "zero" is what every team strives for in the all star cheer world. It means you performed your routine perfect with no mistakes. There were zero deductions marked off on your team's score sheet. A few League 6 teams put on one impressive show across the three different Grand Nationals this weekend as four teams hit perfect zero deduction routines on BOTH days of competition. Here's a look at the teams who hit zero on both days of competition:
Rain Athletics Aqua - WSF Grand Nationals
L6 Limited Senior Small
ICE Golden Girls - WSF Grand Nationals
L6 Senior XSmall
South Jersey Storm Celsius - Champion Cheer & Dance Grand Nationals
L6 Senior Small Coed
Reign Athletics Royalty - Champion Cheer & Dance Grand Nationals
L6 Limited Senior XSmall
Not Over Til It's Over!
Two day competitions are always a true display of mental toughness. It's one thing to come out and nail your routine on day one, but then comes the challenge of staying mentally tough to come back and do it again on day 2. It's an awesome challenge to aim to conquer at these two day events. A team's day two performance can also be the opportunity to start fresh. Mistakes & deductions might happen, but that doesn't mean your team is out of the running. You can come back and nail your routine on day two to still have a chance of climbing back up in the placement rankings. Here's some awesome comeback stories from the weekend:
- Central Jersey All Stars Team Gunz - Went from 5th place on Day One to finishing in First Place on Day Two at WSF Grand Nationals
- The Stingray All Stars Blue Angeles (L6 Senior Small) - Went from 3rd Place on Day One to First Place on Day Two at WSF Grand Nationals
- Woodlands Elite Majors (L4 Junior - Medium) - Went from 2nd Place on Day One to First Place on Day Two at Spirit Celebration Christmas Grand Nationals
- Maryland Twisters Cat4 (L4 Junior) - Went from 3rd Place on Day One to First Place on Day Two at Champion Cheer and Dance Grand Nationals
