National School Spirit Spotlight: Meet Central High School

Meet Central High School!

Central High School proudly serves its community as the district’s only high school. Between their cheer and dance squads, they’ve built an impressive legacy of game day traditions. This February, both teams will bring their rich traditions and school spirit to the National School Spirit Championships! Get to know the talented squads ready to light up the stages:

From the Head Coach: The Value of NSSC:

We are so excited to come together at nationals and perform on the same stage representing Central.  This is something we are very proud of and getting to work alongside each other as we prepare for nationals is going to be an added bonus. Our community is really looking forward to seeing dance and cheer come together for a new and exciting division at nationals.

How Do You Incorporate Cheer and Dance To Show School Spirit?

We play a vital role from start to finish on game days. Positioned in front of the dancers and band, we lead the crowd with energy and spirit. They know our cheers and join in to amplify the excitement!

- Amy Stevens, Head Cheerleading Coach

Favorite Game Day Tradition:

Our favorite game day tradition is meeting at the field early on Fridays to tailgate and watch our football team, band and dancers march into Wildcat Stadium.  We also always meet on the field -football, cheer, dance and band to play the Alma mater after every game.  Win or lose!

What Makes Central High School Special?

We are a small town community that is built on small town traditions.  Many of our students are 2nd, 3rd and even 4th generation wildcats. We have one high school that our elementary and junior high feed into, which creates a close knit community.
