What To Know About The Von Braun Center
The Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama, has become a familiar venue for top-tier cheer events, and another trip to Rocket City seems like a fitting way to blast off the new cheer season.
The facility is named in honor of rocket pioneer Dr. Wernher von Braun, a nod to the country’s space program and the role it has played in the area’s history.
The Von Braun Center is a centerpiece of Huntsville’s downtown area and has been hosting conferences, conventions, concerts, shows, ballets, banquets, symphonies, sporting events and more – even Elvis Presley, Jimmy Buffet and the Jackson Five – since the 1970s.
Now, the venue will welcome the 2025 UCA Space Center Regional.
Within a decade of its opening, the venue required the addition of exhibition and meeting space, modern kitchen facilities and more, and this trend continued with the passing years. Another major addition came in 1997, with the new space immediately welcoming a boat show, followed by a six-month tournament facilitated by the American Bowling Congress.
Another round of changes and renovations took place in 2010, modernizing the Von Braun Center’s Arena and Concert Hall, and there’s much more in the plans for 2019 through 2024 and beyond to make sure the VBC continues to be a destination for top-tier events.
