What To Know About The Freeman Coliseum
San Antonio is an ideal host city for tourists, events, competitors and fans, as the area offers so much more than a venue to hold a game or competition. In fact, there are multiple venues in the city that have opened their doors for memorable events in recent years.
Again in 2025, the Cheer Power San Antonio Halloween Challenge to make its return to the Freeman Coliseum, the past home of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo and San Antonio Spurs, both of which now spend their time at the adjacent Frost Bank Center. It really is a complete entertainment district!
The Coliseum itself, constructed in 1949, offers 32,000 square feet of space for events and 10,000 parking spaces for competitors, family and friends. Its versatility allows for sporting events, concerts, trade shows, the circus, bull riding and more.
The property, just northeast of downtown San Antonio, also includes the Freeman Exhibition Hall, and that provides another 170,000 square feet for additional events and activities.
The event calendar for the Freeman Coliseum is pretty packed, and for those who have some free time while in town for the Cheer Power event, the area once again will be hosting Spacecon (Oct. 24-26).
If you want to stay a big longer, the Spurs will be back in town to play the Brooklyn Nets on Oct. 26 and the Toronto Raptors on Oct. 27.
