The opening weekend of the new Aloha Spirit season returns to Trenton this weekend for a competitive cheer showdown.

The Aloha Trenton Showdown will bring All Star cheer teams back to the CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, New Jersey.

At each Aloha Spirit event, competitors, staff, and guests often maintain the island spirit with Hawaiian attire, a luau theme, and the look and feel of our nation’s 50th state.

Since 2001, Aloha Spirit events have been bringing a bit of Hawaiian flair to each competition. During the events, there is an emphasis on “Ohana” or family, and even the awards share the same sentiment.

Another special feature of each event is a 3-foot custom trophy known as the KA MAHALO Award. It is given to the team that exemplifies the spirit of the islands and displays above-and-beyond sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Enjoy complete coverage of the event, as teams in both Division I and Division II go head-to-head with their sights set on obtaining points to The Varsity Cheer League by Varsity All Star and a bid to one of the prestigious end-of-season championships!

What To Know About The CURE Insurance Arena

The 250,000-square foot facility is familiar with the crowds and has the flexibility to handle any kind of event – concerts by top recording artists, basketball, hockey, monster trucks, and more, having welcomed the likes of Cher, Bruce Springsteen, Shania Twain, Justin Bieber, NCAA Division I women’s basketball and the Harlem Globetrotters in recent years.

The venue can fit up to 10,000 people for concerts and shows, 9,000 for basketball, and 8,100 for hockey.

Take a virtual walk through the arena and see what it looked like during some of its transformations. Directions and parking information can be found HERE.

Every team that competes at a Varsity All Star event this season will be included in the Varsity Cheer League.

Team rankings are determined by the point system displayed here

At each Varsity All Star event your team completes, your team will earn points based on the assigned event and placement point value.

At the end of the season, your six best Varsity All Star event scores will be used to calculate your final rank.

In total, 92 winners will be recognized from first to third place across each region.

One champion will be crowned in each of the five regions across the six eligible divisions and two League 6 conferences. Champions will win cash and prizes!
