The 2025 The American Northwest Portland Nationals is the first of 15 events on the The American Championships schedule for the 2025-2026 season and will bring All Star cheer teams back to Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon.

Varsity TV will be there to provide live coverage of the event Dec. 6-7.

What To Know About The Oregon Convention Center

The American Northwest Portland Nationals returns to the Oregon Convention Center in 2025, and the Pacific Northwest sounds like the perfect place to enjoy some of the holiday season. 

The venue is a huge part of Oregon’s economy, so making sure it remains one of the premier facilities in the region is important, but there’s also a focus on it being the perfect blend of the diverse cultures that make Portland such a special place. 

The Oregon Convention Center has multiple ballrooms, 255,000 square feet of uninterrupted exhibit space, more than 50 meeting rooms, VIP suites and more. There’s even 30,000 square feet of outdoor space, should the weather be right for something unique. 

The property recently underwent a $40 million renovation.

The Varsity Cheer League

The Varsity Cheer League is the official ranking system for the sport of All Star cheerleading, changing the conversation from “Who won the weekend?” to “Who ranks at the top this season?”

Every all star elite team in Youth, Junior, and Senior divisions will be included in the Varsity Cheer League.

Team rankings are determined by the point system displayed here. 

At each Varsity All Star event your team completes, your team will earn points based on the assigned event and placement point value. 

At the end of the season, your six best Varsity All Star event scores will be used to calculate your final rank.

In total, 92 winners will be recognized from first to third place across each region.

One champion will be crowned in each of the five regions across the six eligible divisions and two League 6 conferences. Champions will win cash and prizes!
