Once again, the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas will be the center of the cheerverse, as the venue hosts a pair of elite events Dec. 13-14.

It’s all part of a three-event month at the familiar venue, which has become a regular destination each year for cheer and dance competitions from a variety of organizations. 

The action-packed mid-December weekend will begin with the 2025 NCA State of Texas Regional for school teams on Dec. 13, while the All Star squads will take the spotlight Dec. 14 for the 2025 NCA Holiday Classic.

Spirit Celebration Grand Nationals took center stage at the convention center Dec. 6-7.

When the KBHCC welcomes high school cheer teams for the NCA State of Texas Regional, and Division I and Division II All Star teams for the 2025 NCA Holiday Classic the next day, all of the action from both events will air live on Varsity TV!

It’s all part of a busy National Cheerleaders Association schedule that includes dozens of events each season.

Since 1948, NCA has been on the cutting edge of all things competitive cheerleading and lived by the motto “The Work Is Worth It.”

For more than 75 years, the organization has been focused on competition, camps/instruction and philanthropy, all geared toward helping participants become the best cheerleaders, leaders and people they can become.

What To Know About The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center

The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center features a million square feet of exhibit space, three ballrooms, 88 meeting rooms, a 1,750-seat theater and a 9,816-seat arena, and it’s connected to a hotel with more than 1,000 rooms.

The venue is one of the premier, and busiest, destinations in the country and hosts a variety of events each year from conventions to meetings to concerts, competitions, sporting events and trade shows.

Things To Do In The Dallas Area

The enormity of the Dallas area can be overwhelming, but many of the cheer teams and their supporters likely have been to the metroplex before, so getting around should be easy enough.

For returning visitors and newcomers alike, it should be a fun weekend of competition, sightseeing and enjoying the local attractions and cuisine.

The Varsity Cheer League

The Varsity Cheer League is the official ranking system for the sport of All Star cheerleading, changing the conversation from “Who won the weekend?” to “Who ranks at the top this season?”

Every All Star elite team in Youth, Junior and Senior divisions will be included in the Varsity Cheer League.

Team rankings are determined by the point system displayed here. 

At each Varsity All Star event your team completes, your team will earn points based on the assigned event and placement point value. 

At the end of the season, your six best Varsity All Star event scores will be used to calculate your final rank.

In total, 92 winners will be recognized from first to third place across each region.

One champion will be crowned in each of the five regions across the six eligible divisions and two League 6 conferences. Champions will win cash and prizes!
