Once again, the National Cheerleaders Association Atlantic Classic is back in the Atlanta area and returns to the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park, Georgia, for its 2026 edition.

It’s a shift from last year’s event, which spanned two days – one for Division I and one for Division II – but Varsity TV will be there to provide live coverage of the full day of two-division action on Jan. 31.

The NCA Atlantic Classic is one of more than 20 NCA events scheduled for the 2025-2026 season that will showcase the talent of young cheer teams from coast to coast.

The NCA was created in 1948 and focuses on competition, camps/instruction and philanthropy, all geared toward helping participants become the best cheerleaders, leaders and people they can become.

Enjoy complete coverage of the 2026 NCA Atlanta Classic, as standout teams from Division I and Division II go head-to-head with their sights set on obtaining points to The Varsity Cheer League and a bid to one of the prestigious end-of-season championships!

What To Know About The Georgia International Convention Center

Like many cities across the United States, the Atlanta area has become a familiar destination for elite cheer and dance events each season.

One of the many venues that continues to appear on competition schedules is the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park, Georgia, which is less than a mile from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

The airport is so close to the GICC that participants and guests can get to the venue by car or by the free ATL SkyTrain, as the two locations are connected.

This is a convenience they’ll get to enjoy again in 2026 when the NCA Atlanta Classic returns to town on Jan. 31.

Once at Georgia’s second-largest convention center, visitors will see more than 300,000 square feet of space, more than 7,000 nearby hotel rooms and top-of-the-line accommodations and technology.

The same team that operates the GICC also handles business at the Gateway Center Arena, a 5,000-seat venue that hosts sporting events, concerts, shows, graduations conventions and more.

The Gateway Center Arena is the home of the Atlanta Dream, a professional women’s basketball team and the College Park Skyhawks, the G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks.

The history of the capital city of Georgia began in the 1830s, when the area was connected to the Midwest via railroad, and that’s just part of the history and culture celebrated in museums and galleries around the area.

Atlanta itself has a zoo, aquarium, gardens, galleries, many professional sports teams – it’s even the headquarter city for CNN (news channel) and the Coca-Cola Company, and it’s possible to visit and tour both properties.

When we travel, the food we enjoy often is as important as the sights. Sure, eating is necessary, but it also is a way to enjoy the area’s culture and traditions.

That said, make room for some Southern BBQ, fried chicken, sweet tea, Brunswick stew, pecan pie and other delicious Southern fare. And, remember – Georgia is the Peach State, so keep an eye out for all the ways the locals can delight you with the tasty state fruit!
