Must-Watch Game Day Divisions

More than 40 spirited school teams will display routines jam-packed with crowd-leading talent and exciting skills that are sure to have the crowd on their feet and ready for game day.

In the Game Day divisions, the routines last for a maximum of three minutes and use the same elements teams perform back home on the sidelines. Routines include a band chant, a situational sideline, a timeout cheer, and your school's traditional fight song. The scoresheet focuses on a team's ability to lead the crowd, execution, energy, and overall performance.

Madison Central High School is the reigning UCA Game Day National Champions, and the Kentucky team will start their journey to another championship title at the UCA Smoky Mountain Championship. The Indians showcased a spirited and visual routine to win the top spot in Orlando, and we can't wait to see how they bring their sideline traditions to the competition mat this year.

It will be an exciting weekend as teams take the mat for the very first time. You will not want to miss this and, the best part is, you don't have to! Be sure to tune in to Varsity TV to watch the competition LIVE!

What Cheerleading Taught Me: Eugene Bodden

Most cheerleaders and dancers join a team at a young age just looking for a hobby or an afterschool activity. But after years of practicing, conditioning, long game days, and competition weekends, these athletes look back on the hours spent with their teammates and realize that cheer and dance taught them a lot more than just the skills they learned on the mat.
